Some Thoughts & Feelings (a review): Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Stereo Rose

        As much as I love makeup, and skincare, and beauty products in general, I am very much in my own little world; which means that I am usually oblivious to "trending", "hot", "of the moment", whatever you want to call them products.  Or, as with the lovely Stereo Rose by Mac, I find out about how awesome a product is right when it becomes incredibly difficult (and/or expensive) to find.

   I remember hearing about the Apres Chic collection from Mac, but honestly I found the name terribly boring; and therefore assumed that I would not like a single thing.  I don't know why, but that's what the name did to me.  So I pushed it from my mind and continued living my life.

        Then it started...all of a sudden I felt like I heard Stereo Rose being mentioned by everyone, everywhere, everytime (everytime? that's weird and I'm sure I meant all the time).  Apparently I had missed out on the best, most amazing, most gorgeous, most glowy cheek product ever! 
I understand the inherent hypocrisy of writing a blog called Off The Bandwagon while jumping without hesitation onto one, but Stereo Rose was becoming a nagging thought in the back of my brain.  I couldn't shake the feeling that I needed to have it.  Like NEEDED to have it.  As in, my-life-will-be-infinitely-better-and-I-will-look-way-prettier-and-life-will-be-great need to have it. (Please read that last sentence as if it was said quickly and all in one breath, as that is how I basically said it to myself haha) So I broke down and found it on Amazon...for almost double the original retail price!  Ahhhgggg!!!  

         Luckily shipping was very quick so buyer's remorse could not really sink in.  When I giddily opened the package and took my first look at Stereo Rose, I felt...nervous.  It looks pretty bold in the pan and I was concerned that maybe I had made a mistake...a costly mistake...a costly mistake I couldn't return...  And then I put it on.  Wow.  It's really pretty!  As in I stared at my cheeks for a full five minutes pretty!  Stereo Rose gave me a really lovely, healthy flushing of glowing color that I really enjoyed.

    Stereo Rose is a highly pigmented, coral/neon peach-ish color with golden veins of shimmer running through it.  You can tell just by looking at it that it could be way intense if applied incorrectly.   It's not sparkly but has a strong sheen.  It's very glowy, and a little definitely goes a long way. I personally prefer using a lighter hand when applying this, but that's just me.  If you want to go balls to the wall with it then go for it!  Because if ever there was a statement blush that I would wear, it would be this.       So, is my life infinitely better and totally great now that I own this?  Yeah, a little bit :)  I definitely feel a little more radiant and "lit from within but because I'm super healthy and awesome" when I wear it.  Granted I'm not advocating anyone run to amazon or ebay to purchase it for the ridiculously high prices I've seen since I bought it, but if you happen to come across one or if you have the money to spare I think it's definitely worth it.  Nothing wrong with a splurge every once in a while just to put a smile on your face, right?
